Also, the most entertaining ads they've had.
BUT, I so have to agree with the music.
The animation of the intro is ok, but that music... who said we all love thrashing guitar rock? (ok, so I do... but only sometimes).
His intro/outro music was part of what gave it a quirky flavour...

Try AVGN, he may have reviewed that. Yahtzee is more about the modern titles (can't have the angry guy whinging about 'x' with gimmick 'y' market get too crowded now, can we?).
The review itself is typical but then again, Yahtzee isn't exactly a good reviewer, he's just a humorous guy. Unfortunately he never reviews the games based on previous outings. The new AITD is about as far from the series as you can get whilst still sharing the same name.
but I reackon its to stop the whole "copyrigt and fair use" bollocks Escapists must have been getting about using the clips...

He never refers to the most annoying thing in the game: you are required to shift between 1st and 3rd person viewpoints constantly. Half the time the game does it for you without warning. The control is terrible in both viewpoints, and there is no camera control in third person. The game will also sometimes arbitrarily and without warning place the camera in a fixed remote viewpoint that's really confusing and also moves differently from the other two modes. This leads to a lot of falling off cliffs. You also will often find yourself wondering why you can't do something, only to realize you need to switch viewpoints.
There's also no way to skip the constant cutscenes.
I only keep playing it because the graphics and sound are decent and like Yahtzee says there are moments of brilliance.
I haven't skipped anything yet either, although I've been tempted. I actually like the driving sections.
I'd love to get a modern update to "Ecstatica". Anyone play that back in the day?
Also, judging by some of what's been said/shown at E3, this whole "don't pause for inventory actions" is something developers seem to think adds to the tension and is somehow beneficial to the game. I think they need to be told otherwise loudly and quickly.
I really dig the inventory implementation. It's logical. Why should a character who might otherwise be normal have the ability to freeze time so he can dick around in his inventory? Realtime forces you to prepare and be strategic, which is usually what the developers are going for if they give you an inventory in the first place. It also enhances immersion.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has realtime inventory and it's hella fun.
Oh god I thought I would never hear that name again! I thought it was brilliant. Though it would be in third person and retain that great spherical way of rendering everything
They could possibly fix the control issues, and add camera control, with a patch. That would make it about twice as good a game, which would be pretty decent.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is the most satisfying single-player gaming experience I've ever had on the PC. I'm very much looking forward to Clear Sky.
The joke makes up for the still horrible music which has NOT grown on me and won't. Hope he replaces it soon.
